The Blue Ridge Breakaway

Hey, everyone, just wanted to make sure we continue to mention the Blue Ridge Breakaway.   The Breakaway is a one-day ride sponsored by the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce and  is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th, 2016.    There’s also a countdown timer for the Breakaway on our home page at bicyclehaywoodnc.org.

Registration (which ranges from $46 to $66 depending on your route choice) opened on March 1st.  Early-bird registration is now available and will run through August 1st.

The Blue Ridge Breakaway is an annual cycling event in support of the initiatives of the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber services the towns of Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Canton and Clyde.

With a variety of routes specifically designed for riders of all skill levels, the Blue Ridge Breakaway is sure to please.

The Breakaway offers four routes [Rabbit, Panther, Trout, and Hawk] suitable for intermediate level riders to avid cyclists.  All routes begin and end at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center.

Please Note: Blue Ridge Breakaway is a ride, not a race! All riders are expected to follow all traffic laws including stop signs and stop lights.
